For this assignment, I would like to represent what the working world feels like to me coming up. As I am graduating in December the idea of being and working in the real world is somewhat of a jarring thought to me. A good amount of my friends have graduated and made it seem like it is really something that gets them down. As I have been in school still and they have been working monotonous nine-to-five jobs, it seems that there is true envy that exists to still be in college. Whenever I tell someone that I am still in school they always say something like "Do it for as long as you can" or something along those lines. I noticed that when going through the sounds there is a wide variety of options available to use as sounds and am looking forward to using a colorful array of different atmospheres, textures, and soundscapes to convey this feeling that I have described of going into the real world from college. While flipping through the sounds there are many that feel akin to going through the motions of the day which I feel will help tell the story of the nine-to-five workday that feels like is approaching. There is an especially jarring sound in the mix that is what I assume is an industrial machine grinding on a different piece of metal, it is loud and surprising and I feel that it would be a good way to put a metaphor to the 'grind' of the nine-to-five that seems is system around which our society is based on.
