ABOUT THE ARTIST

            The biggest reason that I wanted to take this course was to put myself in a position outside of my comfort zone. When I was a kid, I wanted to be many things when I grew up and an artist was definitely one of them. Specifically, what I want to get out of this class is better tactile skills and ability to create more confidently. I truly don’t have many expectations for this class but after the first week I have already felt more connected to myself in terms of being more deliberate with myself and what I create. One thing that I’m nervous about is having to learn how to use this new software but looking forward to it. Something that has felt great though has been the overall excitement of the class, it makes things feel informal yet focused and helps me feel a part of the class as a whole. I feel that even after only a week I have formed some base connections that will flourish throughout the semester. Overall, I am really enjoying the class so far and excited about what is to come. In terms of the type of artist I am I think that it would be great to explore how to make digital art that could potentially later be turned into an NFT to be sold online. I was a decent artist as a kid and am looking forward to honing in on my creativity to create some new art.
