For my eZine I have intentions of creating a story about a time-traveling bounty hunter that is looking to hunt a target that is far in the future. I have recently been listening to a lot of new retro wave music which is a genre of music that blends elements of synth technology with elements of new-style EDM music like techno, house, and trance. I'm also taking inspiration from the Tron movies that have come out, in the newer Tron movies there is a ton of references to this genre and aesthetic. A lot of major themes that I want to touch on in my story are a DeLorean, a ring, and a cityscape chase. The major theme of the DeLorean will be able to help connect the reader to the idea instilled in pop culture of the DeLorean which is one of time travel, made famous by the Back to the Future movie series. The ring idea will signify how the bounty hunter is tracking down his target, I have a rough idea where the target leaves this ring behind a crime scene and this is the only way that the bounty hunter has to track the target down. I believe that in this aesthetic there is a large focus on speed, chases, and navigating through busy city streets so I'm going to be sure to include fast-paced scenes as well as cityscapes and other atmosphere-building ideas to convey to the reader that this is a high-stakes chase going on.
